dP(A) Acoustics, Inc., is an acoustical consulting firm based in Dallas that provides creative, economical, and practical solutions in the areas of architectural acoustics, HVAC noise & vibration control, environmental noise mitigation, and sound system design. We work on building types such as theaters, churches, multi-family & mixed-use facilities, educational buildings, and hospitals.
The firm has been certified as a HUB entity by the State of Texas and has experience in educational facilities for USDoDEA and on LEED® projects.
The firm is owned by DP Ayyappan, commonly known as DP, and has over thirty (30) + years of experience in acoustics.
DP’s educational background consists
of undergraduate degrees in science and architecture along with a graduate degree specializing in architectural acoustics.
He has performed a comprehensive study of classical “shoe-box” shaped concert halls using the famed Troy Music Hall as an example.

The acoustical environment and the sound system were designed to accommodate activities like discourses, Indian classical music & dance, and community events.
This stringent acoustical requirement is hard to meet unless planned during the design development phase. We have worked on school projects to meet the similar requirements by the US DoDEA

This acoustical environment of the
200+ seat chapel was designed to naturally enhance the spoken words and the vocals. The sound system was designed to work with the acoustical environment to amplify recorded sources.
